Should You Buy The Nokia 6500 Slide?

The Nokia 6500 Mobile Phone is available in two different versions, the Slide and Classic Design. This review is looking at the Slide version. This phone is a stunning 3G mobile phone that has an amazing quality 3.2MP digital camera and a high resolution LCD screen. It’s a 3G phone, so it has video calling as standard. It also offers MP3 player, FM Radio, and Bluetooth. This phone is available in silver or black.

Many people find it confusing when comparing the two versions of 6500 (Classic and Slide), you would assume that two phones with the same model number and that look similar would have the same list of features, but surprisingly they don’t. Although the two phones have the same model number they are completely different inside.

It really is amazing that such a large company like Nokia decided to completely change the specs on two phones that are otherwise identical. The slide has a larger screen, and numerous extra features. Although both of the phones are 3G phones, only the Slide is able to make videophone calls. The slide can also support memory cards up to 4GB, but the classic doesn’t have any memory card slot. There’s also an FM radio in the slide, but not in the classic. The slide is quite bulky, while the classic is very slim.

This is very annoying, because they have the same name, look the same and are sold at the same price, but are two very different phones. The classic is a great looking phone and much thinner, but the slide has all of the best features.

The battery life on the slide phone is amazing considering the advanced kit that it’s packing! The design also makes it very easy to use, especially if you are already familiar with using Nokia Phones.

The Good:

Fantastic battery life, even a textaholic gets 4 days of battery life from it.
Great quality camera.
Easy to use.

The bad:

Can only support micro-SD cards, not Micro-SDHC cards. Which means the biggest card it can support is 4GB.
Some people are experiencing software problems.
