Should You Buy The Blackberry Pearl 8120?
The Blackberry Pearl 2 8120 Mobile Phone is a very sophisticated and stylish little phone, it’s much smaller than other BlackBerry phones, and has a very nice and clear screen. The keyboard does take some getting used to, but once you’ve mastered it you can type very quickly.
The Pearl is available in 2 colours Titanium and Red, like other Pearl models it’s not only a business communication device, but also a great all round smartphone.
The screen can display 65k colors, and has a great resolution of 240×260 pixels. This phone uses the SureType software which was developed by BlackBerry, this makes typing very easy. The Pearl is very light considering all the features and weighs in at 91g including the battery. The 8120 feels like it is made to a very high quality.
The 8120 has built in Wi-Fi technology which means that it is possible to use this phone to connect to your wireless network at home or work. This makes it possible to enjoy the Internet on the phone for free without having to pay exorbitant mobile Internet fees. It is also possible to connect remotely when you do not have a wireless network available. The phone has a HTML Internet browser and RIM wireless modem. The 8120 also has blue tooth and USB connections which makes it very easy to connect the phone to virtually any computer.
There is 64MB of built in memory, and it’s possible for users to expand the memory by using MicroSD cards which are extremely good value at the moment! The phone has built in viewers for many of the popular document formats, including Word, Excel and even Powerpoint.
The phone lasts for approximately four hours of talk time when it is fully charged, and 360 hours of standby time.
If you’ve ever heard of Blackberry phones before then you will know that they do email very well, this phone is no different it has a wonderful wireless email service which allows you to enjoy your email just as you would at home. You can send and receive emails, plus thanks to the Pearl 8120’s great document viewers you can also view the majority of attachments. There is also an Online chat application which allows you to talk to people using compatible instant messaging clients on their computer.
Of course there are also the standard features that you would expect from a phone, you can still make and receive phone calls, and of course send text messages. This phone also supports multimedia messaging (MMS).
This phone isn’t just for business people, it also has a media player which allows you to play music and video directly on your Smartphone. Music can be listened to by using a paid of headphones, or played over the phones speaker if you feel like sharing your musical tastes with everyone ;-). The camera has a built in 2MP digital camera which can be used to take photos and videos.
